Donations are still needed for the Greensburg Future Fund, as there are still many needs in Greensburg. For future sustainability donations may be given to the Greensburg Endowment. Donations may be sent to SCCF with Greensburg noted. |

On May 4, 2007, an F5 Tornado destroyed 95% of Greensburg Kansas. Hours after the tornado Greensburg residents were evacuated. Several days after the destruction, Greensburg residents decided to rebuild and rebuild Green. In the days following the tornado, South Central Community Foundation set up the Greensburg Future Fund to provide a place for donations to be given. | |||
| One the the first projects to be funded was the removal and clean up of debris so the rebuilding could be started. South Central Community Foundation also contributed to the building of a new water tower (right) in the months following the disaster. | ![]() |

Donations to SCCF also contributed to the building of a business incubator (left) to help get new businesses established and returning businesses back on their feet. |

Donations helped build the 5-4-7 Art Center (right). This is the first building in Greensburg to achieve the LEED rating. It was designed and built by KU engineering students and is self sustaining. |
