Robert Fuqua Scholarship

Robert L. Fuqua graduated from St. John High School in 1967.  He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University in 1971, after which he joined the Air Force where he received training in intelligence analysis and was assigned to the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, Maryland as an intelligence analyst.  After four years in the Air Force, he worked at the same agency as a civilian for over thirty years in various capacities including analytical, management and technical leadership positions.  Always interested in education, Mr. Fuqua served as an adjunct faculty member of NSA’s National Cryptologic School, finally serving as the Dean of the Center of Cryptology at the school.  Now retired, he and his wife live in Florida, where he remains actively involved in recreational and scientific endeavors.

Mr. Fuqua’s academic standards are high, and the Fuqua Scholarship is both highly competitive and academically challenging.

The purpose of the scholarship is to help further the education of students who have demonstrated outstanding knowledge, interest and abilities in applying science and technology to solve problems.
