Howard and Eva Ellis Scholarship |
Howard and Eva were longtime residents of Haviland. Both were graduates of Haviland High School. In 1949 they purchased the Haviland Telephone Company and were responsible for modernizing rural telephone service by being the first to convert from operator assisted calls to direct dialing and from party to single user lines. They were very active in their community and church. |
